Today we said farewell to our oldest cat, Kairi. She was 18 years old.
We got her from PetSmart when she was 6 months old. Her shelter name was Gertrude, and she was the best cat ever. Her final day consisted of eating bacon and wet food, and her first trip to a park where we let her play on a play set. My wife held her so she could go down her very first slide.
Her favorite things to do was watch science fiction shows (the 2003 Battlestar Galactica was her favorite) and animal documentaries, chin scritches, and chilling outside in soft dirt.
She now rests at my parents house in a special spot next to other beloved pets.
She leaves behind her adopted son Sora, her adopted brother Riku, and adopted sister Smudge.
Thank you to our vet for making her final moments as pain free as possible.
